Hi All,

Well, I plan on telling Santa that I’d like a regulator but want to know specifically which to ask for. The biggest factor is that I need it to perform in the tropics and in the Pacific Northwest. I’d say it will be used 70-80% of the time in the Pacific Northwest because I live there. Santa was learning toward a MK25/S600. What do people think?

Matt

MK17/S555, Titan LX Supreme ACD, Legend LX Supreme ACD & any Apeks XTX are also great regulators.

The Legend is the most comparable to the MK25.

any of the above will work in Cold/tropics and be relatively easy to service anywhere.

Cheers

...Santa's pretty busy this time of year...help him out and do some 'searches' here on Scubaboard...there's at least 4 bazillion 'which reg is better ?' reg threads.......more than enough info to make your head explode! :)

Santa is a tough cookie ... those elfs on the other hand have the attention span of a nat. Making them do the search will cause them to spontaneously explode. I pity the kid who gets a toy from Santa with elf brains splattered all over it.

That said search is your friend - however I might tend towards a reg that is sealed for the colder waters.

The problem with getting a regulator through Santa is that the warrenty is only good through The North Pole. Santa will match the factory warrenty, but you have to ship the reg back to the North Pole for servicing.

Tell Santa you want a MK17 with S600 and a S600 octo

While you're writing wish lists, consider an H-Valve and a second 1st stage. Anything under 10°C (50°F) two first stages start making a lot of sense (and so does practicing own/buddy regulator shut down). Sorry, personal bugbear of mine. :D

Ask for what the others diving with you swear by (and not at), but don't necessarily have Santa buy from them (to avoid having a lemon foisted on you  ).

Ask for one you can get serviced locally from a major brand.
