Ok does anyone have opinions on Oceanic vs Genesis...
Found two packages around same price...HELP!!
Please and thanks...

Wow I am in Savannah also. Do some research. I have dove a number of regs. Usually the shop knows some one that they can hook you up with who dives the reg you are lookin at. Each reg has its pros and cons. Me I dive Sherwood, the only reg with a closed First Stage, They breath like a dream. The Oasis is the smoothest reg I have ever dove at all depths. The Maximus with its swivel at the second stage breaths like a pig but is so comfortable. Before I got the Sherwoods I tried, Oceanic, US Divers, Scuba Pro, and a few others. A lot of your choice should be what kind of diving will you be doing. Tech divers have a tendancy to use a specific type of reg, recreational divers use mostly what they can afford, and poeple with experience like my self who know that - in my opinion - the most important piece of equipment is my reg, tend to buy the best they can afford and after research regs and test them before we jump into the deep end.

Hope that helped ya, if not "OH Well"

Odhar do you mean environmentally sealed? My Apeks DST, DS4, and Tek3's are all sealed. Could you explain if your Sherwood is different since I am not familiar with them.

Thanks!

Sherwood air bleed system keeps positive air pressure inside the 1st stage to keep the bad stuff out. It is not designated as enviromently sealed. It has a bleed valve that instead of a open piston style it uses internal air pressure to balance the first stage.

Another nice feature I like is Sherwood's patented primary air sensing channel system. The sensing channel helps you breathe comfortably and efficiently under high demand conditions, where it will actually deliver more air to the second stage.

The Sherwood moving orifice balancing system is found on most Sherwood regulators.

All this is part of the closed system that uses air presure inside the first stage to seal it from water, dirt, and other contaminates. The air system also uses internal air to balance the first stage.

Well the Genesis is a 2000...the Oceanic is a GT3...and the other I had looked at was a Sherwood Magnum....
Thanks
