I'm a Fish!
When the missus and I got certified I purchased Dacor Vipers for the both of us from ST as part of our newB gear starter package. 2 years ago I bought a Delta 4 and put my 2nd stage Viper on a 19cf pony bottle with an aftermarket DIN first stage since it has no up or down. I love my Delta and as of today have 299 tanks under my belt. The wife 96 on her Viper. My question is this; the wifey is perfectly happy with her reg. Ignorance is bliss. I know it breathes OK but I want to get her a better reg. Should I wait till she gets a few more tanks under her belt or pull the trigger and get her an easier breathing unit/

Be careful about getting to paternal on gear choices.

Fact is some people like regs that breathe like rocks - something that always astounds me when divers take nice regs and want me to de-dune them to breath like crappy regs.

The point being your spousal unit may like the regs she has just fine and resent a change imposed upon her.

Buy the Oceanic EOS and declare the Delta as surplus or a backup. Should she decide to try it, it's not 'your' regulator. In that case, the Dacor becomes the backup.

BTW, that Viper looks like it functions along the lines of the Oceanic Omega II; my all time favorite (and still using them) regulator.

Years ago when my (now) wife started diving, I had some pretty good gear. She tried it and decided to buy ANYTHING else. It's pretty much the same today. Whatever I am using, she won't.

Spend the money on dive trips.

Both good points, which makes me think of this:
