Another vote for the Salvo Primary reel, I prefer it with the thicker 36 # line but you do get less than if it had the 24# line on it.
 
I will have to agree with the rest of the posts. The sidewinder reels are much easier to manage underwater... They get jammed way less often then the "over the handle" reels. I personally use the larry green models, I like them very much... Found it to be an attractive reel, but I also very much so like the halcyon sidewinder... I find the sidewinder reels to be easier to manage because it is much easier to maintain tension on the line... Biggest thing to keep in mind, what are you comfortable with? Test out different reels, borrow them from people... Good luck mate!
 
Yup Sidewinder reels are the way to go. I carry the Salvo reels, and they are very hard to beat.
