I will be sure to tell him Hello! Thanks for the trip report. It really helps if someone has never been to a resort. Thanks for taking the time to write it.

Thanks so much for the report! We're looking forward to our first visit, Feb 7 - 14; we've stayed twice at CocoView, but wanted to try something different. We've been away from diving for too long (nearly 6 years) and this place looks like the perfect place to get our sea legs (or fins?) back.

Woodman... Nice report but difficult for me to read between old age and the lines running together... Question for you or anyone in the know, looking at the Reef House, it appears as they have NO night diving... Is this true?

I know for sure that you can do the shore dive 24/7. That, to me, is enough of a night dive- lots to see right there in front of the place, the shallower the better.

If it's too rough to do the shore dive, then it's way too rough to do any boat dive.

Thanks Doc... I tried to find clarification on their site before I posted but could not find anything about night diving... I did see where they said the follow;

You are certainly welcome to start diving when you arrive at the resort providing there is sufficient daylight remaining to complete the dive. A night shore dive is not allowed upon arrival.

but thought it best to clarify than to assume...

We did a night dive when we were there from the boat. I don't remember what night we did it during the week but they do have a scheduled night dive.

Absolutely- and they usually do it right out in front of the resort, which is one of the best dive sites around anyway.

And for clarification on my part.... I was speaking about Night shore diving and early morning shore diving... I thought I read in Woodman's report that they locked up the gear for the night so I started looking to see if they did night dives or dives in the dark be it morning or night... Doc put that to rest with the 24/7 statement which would mean anytime...

They will let you shore dive anytime you want, but you must tell them ahead of time to make sure they have tanks and weights ready for you. They will most likely carry the gear to the pier for you too.They lock the gear closet at night and they also have a night watchman keeping your scuba gear safe. Make sure you wear exposure protection. Jellyfish are on the prowl at night!
Enjoy your stay at RHR! Wishing I was there... :(

Back yet? How 'bout a trip report? We are going to RHR Mar 5 - 12.
