"ok how many pictures do you take on a dive or on a dive trip, and what number do you consider good enough to keep?

of the number that you keep, what/how many would be considered good enough to enter in a photogrphic comp?"

How many pictures do I take on a dive? I varies depending on the motives, but I usually have a fresh roll in the camera for every dive. Sometimes it means throwing away 20 unexposed frames from the prior dive, sometimes I take 36 exposures within the first 5 minutes of the dive. It all depends, so unfortunatelly it is impossible to give you an estimation regarding this. But as a VERY rough estimation I can say that for a 14 day liveaboard (app. 40 dives) in sudanese waters I end up with 400-500 exposures. However I'd say about 25-30% is good for a slideshow/photoalbum. Concerning entering a photo competition, I have no idea. I figure it also depends - on the competition. Maybe 5%???
