DECO is an acronym for "decompression". Acronyms are typically written in all caps.
How do you say touché in Greek? Toupee is tουπέ, but that's not helpful. Although my 8th grade biology teacher had a nasty little toupee. Looked like it was made from epoxy and shoelaces! He was a real POS...speaking of acronyms. My apologies for going off topic. Ahh, and what was the topic again?
 
FFS (yes, an acronym, formed from the initial letters of three words), you even defined the term above. The relevant portion: "formed from the initial letters of other words". Since you believe DECO is an acronym, what are the four words those four letters replace?
An acronym is a kind of abbreviation. Abbreviations can be shortened forms of any kind. For example, appt is an abbreviation of appointment, and ASAP
 
Communication via forum is difficult enough with people from different regions, many of whom speak english as a non-native language; why do you insist on making it more difficult?
I don't make the rules of grammar. I just follow them.
 
Changing the words when you quote other members is very deceptive and can confuse others reading the thread because it appears they wrote something they never did.
