I'm going to be meeting some friends in Pula, Croatia at the end of May and spending 3 glorious weeks sailing, island hopping, exploring, etc. with them on their new-to-them sailboat. I would love to sneak in a little diving while I'm there, but neither of them dive. And I'm not going to be able to bring much of my own gear since I'll already be hauling along a lot of boat gear for them.

Any suggestions on dive shops (English speaking, please!) where I could rent gear and find a buddy, dive sites, must-sees, etc? Thanks!

Istria (where Pula is located) is well known for wreck diving. There are several must-sees but I'll pick three:
1. Baron Gautch (can be reached from Rovinj http://www.scuba.hr/)
2. Lina (near Cres - can be reached from Cres or Istria east coast http://www.krnica.com/e/default.asp)
3. Dormio (can be reached from Pula http://www.krnica.com/e/default.asp)

If you like walls there are many in this area but I'll pick the most famous: Galiola (lighthose).

English won't be a problem as well as renting gear and finding buddy. Contact diving center you pick before you come and check the exact location you can dive on particular date (weather conditions, plans, etc.). During the summer conditions are usually very good and any of these locations can be reached easily. Diving to Baron Gautch is organized every day, for other locations it's better to check.

You can search this forum for some more information - there are several threads about diving in Croatia.

You made a very nice advertising job this weekend - posting your contact to every thread with Croatia in topic. I can see that the administrators have deleted all your posts except this one. I believe that it's not a custom here to advertise diving center you work for.
