What you have there is a chewy, very filling sort of read. Fireside diver was a fun read. PADI Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving is a good overview, just past a basic book on diving. I'll let others chime in now.

Perhaps I should not recommend "A Diver's Guide to Monterey County, California"
ISBN 0-9628600-1-8 as it may entice you to take a few extra days off from work. It's a list of the dive sites with maps, and other info.
 
Great book. Granted we listened to the audio book on our drive down to San Diego for our wreck class... hah

Kinda like watching Final Destination before taking a flight. :wink:
Carrie bought the audio book for me at the TA in Santa Nella last month, I made Chris listen to it on the ride home last weekend.
