I will be staying on the Island of Kri during August. It is in the central RA area.
Does anyone have any idea what are the must see dive sites in the Central / North area ?
Thanks in advance

Try and hit up Sardine, Chicken Reef, Cape Kri, Miskeon (look for the giant clam, its a beauty), Mayhem, Aluie (?) White Arrow, Blue Magic, Manta Sandy (no mantas this time though), Citrus reef is beautiful, Mangrove point and if you get there we just did the Passage between Gam and Waigeo.

Sure lots of others have many recommendations but at 2.18am those are the latest that spring to mind.

Cape Kri looks fantastic above, the reef is beautiful - look for the bumpheads and the schools of sweetlips were beautiful. Enjoy, wise choice.

Ditto wingy, I will add Otdima on top of your list.
My favorites being Cape Kri, the Passage and Otdima.

I think Kri Eco will help arrange ur sites based on conditions & ur groups ability. They will also listen to requests.

But sure enough Cape Kri, blue magic, sardine are epic.

Surgeon fish slope, chicken bay, chicken reef, sleeping Baracuda (these 4 are actually all right next to each other).
We had the most luck at Surgeon fish slope.

Each actually have very cool and unique coral formations in the shallows. Chicken reef seemed like monuments of coral columns on top.

Mioskon is not to be missed. I think a Liveaboard anchor knocked loosed a Giant Clam there. My buddy and our guide Dovino upright it. Hope it's alive.

How about Mikes point? Such a beautiful bounty of mixed coral gardens at top. Just breathe taking.

Friwenbonda? Calmer water at a gentle drop off with lots of soft corals. Our guides found us Ghost pipe fishes both times we went.

Actually we found that fish traffic seem to go with the current so ask the guides to be on the look out for sites during pre-dive check. As some sites are very close-by. Its easy to switch to another. But if there are locals fishing there, you should be swarmed.

When the current picks up at Cape Kri, be ready for a treat of National Geographic level actions under water. Even though I had 3 slightly scary accounts there out of the 4-5 dive there, I'd jump in a heart beat.

There is just so much there even the check dive site at Yenbuba jetty has all kinds of marine life floating around.

Bamboo shark actually hides just under Kri's house reef!

Enjoy!
