Notice the lttle blue arrows just past your name that reference where the original post is from. Using Reply with Quote maintains that across threads/forums also should you want to refer back to a post in a different thread also. Simply reply with quote then cut the entire content and paste it into the reply window in the new thread.

If you just want to quote a snippet instead simply wrap the text in quote tags after cutting/pasting it using either the quote icon or individual BB codes like this:

[quote]this is text[/quote] Note that it loses the original reference when you do.

this is text

To see how another poster used a certain feature often replying to it will show the codes used in the edit window . All the codes are listed here with examples: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode

You can find this list in the Help menu as List all BB Codes. You can also stack quotes within quotes as needed.
