Matt S.:
In rainy Seattle we don't have 50 feet of vis in the parking lot, much less underwater. :)

I made that deal with the fish too. The crab told me to shove it though, so it's game on.

BTW. does anyone know where can I find info on scuba crabbing in our area? I really want to try it, but I can't find the regs online. (Nor do I know where to go for a catch that is safe to eat.)
Here's a good place to start ...

Thanks!

All public Beachs in Seattle are Marine Preserves.
It is illegal to remove a rock or shell from the area.
I don't know how far into the water those same rules apply.

I am not against spear fishing but with our crowded dive sites and low vis I get nervous when I see a diver pull a spear gun out of his dive vehicle.

I have also seen divers harvest outside the legal limits.
If you are crabbing make sure they are male and with in the size limits.
Only take what you are allowed per day..etc.......

Its hard for me to sit back and watch the critters in my favorite dive spots dwindle in numbers.
Its even harder to watch divers (and nondivers) over fish and over harvest just for sport.
