OK…..In fact I should amend my "standard cut and paste advice" to include stating something to the effect of: If one MUST buy a new regulator, buy one that has real customer support; i.e. will sell parts to the owner…

We may be veering a little off from the original question about differences in regulator costs, but here is a a procedure to select a regulator that addresses your comment.

There is a fuzzy but important zone that defines "value" that is harder to quantify than specific features like the number of HP ports. I hope it is useful.

I have cheap regs that breathe just as good as my expensive ones. The only things im willing to pay more money for in a reg is an environmentaly sealed first stage, and weight. Customer support is also key, but not as important as availabilty of parts form outside sources. I have had many a Peice of dive gear that i can no longer get parts for, thus they sit on my mantle collecting dust.

About 30 grams of titanium.

I was gunna say about 1300 dollars.......

At USD $1,405 it better be coated with Platinum (US $1,550 / troy ounce) n not some cheap A$$ chrome.

That earns you bragging rights till it get stolen from under your nose :rofl3:!
