Definately start the child out with a tank suitable for their size and strength. My daughter did a discovery dive (pool only) last week in an al45. Nice and compact for her and she handled it well. I will try to increase the tank size as she grows.

In the meantime until she turns 10 I plan to get rescue certified so I can be a better buddy for her. Definately agree that at least one diver should be experienced. I already dive solo but may get that cert also before she is certified.

yeah -- i think i am going to start him out on a 63 and go from there. he is tall for his age and pretty strong. i tend to dive solo also (which is a bad habit) but i enjoy it, it is my piece of mind so to say
