Galvite holds up well on steel tanks. As Captndale said, it should not be used on galvanized tanks. Painting them defeats the purpose of galvanizing. It is good for refinishing ungalvanized or stripped steel tanks. I use it on older painted PST steel 72 tanks and it is an excellent finish. It is pricey, however. Other galvanized coatings I have tried such as zinc type sprays made by Rustoleum and a couple other brands will not hold up and the finish will not last. Galvite will.

Galvilite will not affect the original hot dip galvanizing it will reinforce it. I have used it with excellent results on some of my older galvanized tanks. In my opinion it is the only product that will hold up to the abuse tanks get. It is far better than any other type of paint. It is second only to hot dip galvanize in protecting steel tanks.
