Angus, I don't think you have to book your accomodation in advance if you don't want to since it shouldn't be too busy in may... (in El Encanto we paid about 88.000 cop per night per room)

We did book our flights (cartagena-san Andres-Providencia, Providencia-San andres-bogota) about a week and a half before in a Medellin travel agency.... (I think its better to book the SA flight in advance!)

The dives where 150.000 cop for 2 dives per person...including the gear we rented (decent stuff) its cheaper if ya bring your own... just send them a mail to ask the pricelist www.felipediving.com

We dove outside a german trawler that was dynamited to at arround 25meter... it was our 1st experience of a wreck and was quite impressive...I don't think you could enter though... amazing corral and sponge formations on the ship! Loads of big Angel and Parrot fish!

Enjoy the Island...it won't dissapoint!

Nice to hear you had a nice time there!! It is without a doubt an undiscovered jewel in the caribbean and better keep it that way.
