That not how it works and as a long timer in T'ben you probably know that.
It's a network of guides that communicates where's what : if you're not part of the network you will have to find by yourself, and that's a real challenge when you're not aware of the new stuff.

I agree with Luko

@JonnieB I made the mistake of a day trip from Tulamben to Amed and can say it was not a good day the guide really did not know the sites there. Next time I will spend a few days staying in Amed and diving with people recommended by Luko.

Sure if you live there and know the sites and how to plan a days diving that's different than for us tourists that can get be unsatisfied because was were given the wrong guide. Guides will always tell you they know the good sites when they don't.

"Blenk," but Bintang is Japanese owned.
Is this an issue? I never dived with a japanese dive shop, but as long as they speak english it should be fine, right?

I was in T'ben for a short stay 3 days start of May, but usually I consider start of the year is never a great time, I prefer the last 4 months.
Gerombong was very good for nudis, some new comers in Batu Riggit (Hypselodoris Kaname with an emperor shrimp) Wunderpus on Sidem, Mototi on Kuanji but nothing really blowing my mind.
Oh, hopefully it will get better by the end of the year after the cold water season and critters become more plentyfull by then.

Yes I don't mind switching places after a few days, especially if it is not a far distance.
