The extra length of the 84" hose will need to be tucked away or under something, no matter what the height of the diver is.

Recreational, single tank I prefer a 5' rubber hose, NOT braided miflex. You want it to have a bit of stiffness. It routes nicely under my right arm, no extra to have to tuck.

Technical, doubles I use a 7' rubber hose.

Has anyone who is around 5'2-5'3" tried both the 60" and 84" long hoses? Trying to figure out which would be best for my wife in the standard long hose configuration with a hose stick.

60”. I’m 5’5” and I was able to wrap it around my torso with no extra needing to be tucked under something.

+1 on the rubber hose. Braided seems like it would tend to float above your neck.

Braided hose kinked. It was annoying. Forgot to mention I dive dry in thick thermals so that took up some length of the 5ft hose for me.

I’m thinking 48” under my arm. Thanks everyone!

I suspect 48" will bow out too much. The typical choice (apart from the 5 or 7 ft hog loop) is 40" under the arm. Google "streamlined regulator". There are numerous discussions here as well as preconfigured packages from various vendors.

Daughter on a 48", me on a 7'....

Either can be successfully implemented, and dependent on the type of diving being done.
