I just don't log dives
So is Zinc-It still the recommended treatment or is Rustoleum Cold Galvanizing Compound Spray better? I don't care about matching the tank color, just want to stop the rusting.

I agree with tbone1004. Maybe try naval jelly on that rust, first. Iron phosphates are soluble in water (that is why it works on rust) but zinc phosphate is a protective coating so naval jelly should go easy on zinc.

I used to be all nuts about re-zincing. Waste of time. Just keep on top of surface bloom. If your tank turns red, clean and spray it with anything containing zinc.

Below is my most recent hydro stamp. Note the date. So it appears that my hydro Nazis also use zinc spray. (And people wonder why I do my own maintenance.)
