My dive buddy and I , my brother, recently purchased our bp and wing setup. we went with a ss plate, dive rite venture wing, and we have one piece harness setups.Up until this time we have only used rental gear. Sigh....... what were we thinking? We just made our first dive with the new gear and it was like we were diving naked. no offense. :10: It was nothing like the bulky rental gear, and also we ended up over weighted. Im pretty sure we are not the first people this has happened too. Everything was so much easier to do with a bp and wing that it makes me wonder why expensive bc's are even shown to you in your classes. I guess that is why, more expensive. Answered my own question. I just wanted to give some more thanks to all the people on this site who are willing to give their opinion on equiptment and experiences, good or bad. thanks again.

one of the things i love about the bp/wings combo is how "free" it makes you
feel.

bc's are way too bulky, imo

Yes, I have to agree. I tried a BP/W setup this past weekend. Nice. Also nice to get try it an get an idea of what sort of BP and harness to get...and how to organize the weight...
I'm a believer.

I only wish SOMEONE in my LDS had said ANYTHING at all about an alternative to a BCD. The rig they sold me made look like the SCUBA dudes on TV. Who knew the dudes on TV were all hollywood?!

I too am a believer… Now to figure out how to explain it all to my wife….

Can't agree more. Glad you enjoyed it too!

Someone on this board used to use the analogy that BP+W (with the cotch strap) is like the buckle seat in a sport car.

I just love it!!!!
