I do believe he is referring to the right side of this picture. There are rock formations that are not displayed at the bottom of the photo that give some protection from the swell. I thinking getting to that area would be the difficult part.

Yes you're right about the location.
Actually the climb down didn't look that bad. I've seen worse mountain goat diving spots. It may be a challenging climb to get out of there but I'm used to that, or we could just run the boat up the 4-5 miles from Bodega. But I was thinking of simplicity and economy and a possible new shore diving spot for people that don't own a boat.

I will have to look at the trail first. One of these days we should take the boat out and start from say Bodega Bay and pop into every cove up the coast and look around.

I've already marked several spots north of Bodega up to the river mouth but have not dove them yet, and dove a few spots south of Bodega including directly below the Point Reyes light house. It is riskier diving the further south you go unless you are right around the Russian River which I would think could be pretty sharky with all the seal action.

I have a spot reserved for you on the boat to Arena Rock on September 24th. Can you make it?

Man, that looks like fun. I already have dive plans for the next couple of weekends though or I'd try to join you all.

Hi Mark,

You are welcome whenever you can make it.

If you are going out, then I'm claiming my spot! Now let's hope that Posieden cooperates.

How did the new dive site recon go?
