The only time I have dove with a pony bottle is when I do deco dives and my pony bottle is a steel 40 with a DIN connector. I sling my tank from left shoulder and left hip D rings - it is never in the way. What you have to ask yourself, if you mainly do wreck diving around here, is when are you going to upgrade to doubles? When you do so, you'll find you will probably never use your 13 cu ft tank again.
If you have tank issues, are you going to the surface directly from where you are or do you need to go back to the anchor line first? Are you using a reel to get back to the anchor line or are you too far away to get back there and then start your ascent with the amount of gas you have in your small tank? Do you have two reels in case you need to ascend immediately?
If your main purpose in buying this pony bottle is redundancy, you need to be looking at more than do you have enough gas to get back to the surface alive. Without a solo certification and not diving doubles, your buddy should be your first call of port for gas if you have tank issues. If you are intent on getting a pony bottle, I would recommend a 30 cu ft. What BC do you have?
If it was pink, I am sure you wouldn't care, if it saved your life.
