3 regulators, which to choose?! I live in Florida and I've been diving for about 2 years, about 25 dives in the Virgin Islands, Texas oil rigs and Florida rivers. That's the kind of diving I plan to do. Finally decided to stop renting stuff and am choosing between 3 regs that are all around ~$300:

Zeagle Envoy: So many good comments about their product and they are local to me (about 2 hours south). The Envoy has a dive/pre-dive switch which appeals to me. From what I've read, they have "perfect" breathing scores from some 2003 reviews. But it does not have a "breathing resistance" adjustment and that sounds valuable (even though I've never used a reg that had that before and been perfectly happy without it).

Oceanic GT3/CDX5: Has something called "dynamic adjustment" which allows it to be adjusted for a breathing resistance and it automatically adjusts as you change depths. That sounds very good. And it has has "dry valve technology" which keeps stuff out of the 1st stage. Again, that sounds very good.

Aeris Atmos Pro: Visited Scubatoys in Dallas last week (great shop/great people). They all highly recommended this reg. It has dive/pre-dive, breathing resistance knob and a swivel on the 1st stage. But this reg isn't listed on their webpage and I can't find any recent threads discussing this reg. I am concerned that the swivel is a point-of-failure and I'm concerned that I can't find more information on this regulator.

Thanks for the help!

Here's my advice. The GT3 is $299, the Envoy DELUXE is $323. Spend the extra $24 and get the Enjoy Deluxe. The reason I say this is that the Deluxe is identical to the Zeagle DSV except it doesn't have the environmental seal on it. Since you're in Florida I assume cold water is not an issue for you. My basis for this advice is that I own 2 Zeagle DSV's, and 2 Oceanic GT3's, and I can speak from personal experience that prefer the Zeagle regs over the Oceanics. I find they are built a little more robustly than the Oceanic's, easier to service, have a metal air barrel instead of plastic parts in the second stage, and in my opinion breathe better than the GT3 as well. Plus the GT3 has an ultra short exhuast tee that puts the bubbles right across your face/ears. The Zeagles have a longer exhaust tee and the bubbles are much less noticeable. The last "plus" for the Zeagle is that they are local to you.

I hope you enjoy whichever reg you choose.

Dont get any of those, Get a scubapro and be done.

My vote is for the Zeagle. I have about 120 dives on an Envoy and it has never had any problems. It's been in 39 degree F water, depth to 141 feet and no problems.

I now have a DS-V and it is great so far.

I don't know about the other two but my wife and I have Zeagle Envoy Deluxe regulators with about 250 dives between us. Never had a problem.

The repair kit is free as long as you have them serviced by an authorized dealer every year.

The Envoy Deluxe does have an adjustment knob for changing the breathing resistance. Their earlier model did not and was called the Envoy.

I have dove the Atmos Pro for 2 years now. I also have the Atmos Sport for my alternate on a set of steel double 130's. Have never had a problem, they breath great and got them at a great price! (through Scubatoys). Been to 130ffw with no change in breathing.

You can't go wrong with a Zeagle.
