After years of playing “Find That Parking Spot” and schlepping dive gear like sherpas on vacation, the impossible has happened…
New Marina Parking.jpg
Marina Fonatur has officially removed its head from its… well, you know… and opened a parking lot for divers and dive masters on the north side.

That’s right—no more parking in the next time zone, no more sweating through your wetsuit before you even hit the water.

Just pull up, park, and go blow bubbles.

Cozumel divers, mark the date. The prophecy has been fulfilled.

That parking lot has always been there.

I looked at switching my dock slip to the "new" or private side of the marina years ago, great that there is a parking lot there, but there is no ramp to the marina level, it's like 10 steps - not really equipment friendly.

That lot is also way the frock far away from the common docking areas of operations like 3P.

The marina development, the management and property layout shine the light on the stupidity of Cozumel.

I had the same thought when I looked at the graphic; that lot is a long way when lugging gear from where most of the boats are docked.

I recently tried a new (for me) dive op that operates out of the marina. That place is a mess. Sure made me appreciate being picked up on the dock at my hotel.

I have been parking there for 2 or 3 years after dumping stuff at the boat ramp. Long walk back.

So in other words this thread is click bait.
Exactly
I like many others have been using it for several years now. Its not that large and would probably not contain all the vehicles currently parked on the road north of the round about. You need to be a little strategic in spot selection as it not real level and no drainage so after a good rain large puddles occur.
