It is just unfortunate that management has elected to use the censor capability in a way that has nothing to do with family friendly. Some folks really just need to get over Karl.

Why? The whole board is "family friendly" why wouldn't PMs be? Besides, it's even more important for things like the auto censor in PM because they are essentially unmoderated. The auto censor is really all SB can do when it comes to PMs.

Actually this isn't a setting, it's just part of the software. The auto censor applies to everything, PMs, threads, calender entries, etc... Of course as cornfed said, we can't moderate PMs and thus the censor is the best we can do to try and keep them civil.

I'm not talking about using the Censor to manage things like foul language. I'm talking about using the Censor to manage references to other scuba related sites. Absolutely no civility considerations involved from a family friendly standpoint.
