I went to NOAA - Search and Rescue Satellite Aided Tracking - Register Your Beacon, clicked Register Now, logged in, then went to Manage Registrations. I could then edit Beacon Usage, so I put in the regions under Additional Information in which I dive. I do not know if that is the best way to provide the information!

Thanks, I was looking through here:

Risk mitigation strategy.

It's cheaper to buy 10K worth of gadgets than deal with one lost diver, I imagine that is the sort of thing people who go on liveaboards look at. Hrmmm when was the last time jim and bobs liveaboard lost a diver. . . .

Yes, I have little trouble to change mine myself. Then, I realize that I have to press the “Edit” button first before I can add any additional info. Duh!

That's very cool, they should update their "Know Before You Go" sheet.

That sucks. I was with Palau Aggressor II in December 2017 & it was free of charge.

I was in Maldives Aggressor II in December 2018 & it was also free.

If I ever go back there again, I’ll bring my own PAB (Nautilus Marine Rescue GPS) then.

This coming September I’ll be on Ring of Fire trip with Blue Manta. They have AIS, but won’t provide PAB. So, I’m going to bring mine. Let the captain note my PAB MMSI #, test it during the checkout dive and verify if the boat AIS received the test signal.

Here is a way to check whether a boat has AIS or not.

I have Marine Traffic app in my iPhone. As mentioned in page 8, post #78, I found BASARNAS' boats are equipped with AIS. Best signaling devices from the searcher’s point of view - update Whether one of the boats will be there to search for you after you launch your MRG's alert, that's another story that I'd like to know.

There are actually several liveaboards that have AIS in Indonesia. Besides Mermaid, Blue Manta that I plan to go to Banda next year, also has AIS.

In “Manage Registration” page, there is another button for “Edit Owner / Operator Information”. Tap on that and fill out the additional info on the bottom of the page, below your name.
All I get is a chance to edit name, email, address, and phone numbers.

Ok, instead of “Edit Owner / Operator Information” I go to the Edit below that and click, then I can scroll down to a box for "Include home port for your boat or aircraft and areas you frequent for recreational use."

There is more than one tab and more than one edit button. Keep digging.

On a PC at least, after logging in and clicking Manage Registration, expect this page. Scroll to the second circled edit and click it...

Has anyone tried to make a waterproof case using high pressure PVC pipe and fittings from your local hardware store? I have done that in the past to store other items. You could use a screw off cap on one end for access, just make sure to use silicone grease on the threads so that it is easy to remove the cap.
