Mitten Diver:
Polly,

Please do not attempt the SIR smores with out taking a fundementals course. I have been working very closely with Netmage to develop an outline for the class. We believe that you will require 4 hours of classroom work and two smoring exercises by the camp fire. Please don't feel bad if you do not pass the first time as most do not. Remember we are trying to teach you the skills necessary to properly SIR smore. As this SIR-F course takes place over two days you should plan to camp as we will not do the technical portion of the course until it is determined to be dark and we have a camp fire hot enough to melt glass. Wait that is a whole other class.

Netmage and I should have the website up and running some time next week if you would like to start checking on your gear configuration.

Would it be possible to do the classroom at Netmage's place? Can I use my current marshmellow fork, or will I need to purchase some SIR approved forks? What about the seat that I sit in to do the actual roasting.... my current lawn chair is green, does that need to be black as well? how long should one be smoring before they take the SIR-F course.... do you think I am ready :06:

Thanks Ken, I'll try it at home the work computer brings it up but won't play it.

We are planning to carve pumpkins at Gilboa Oct. 29 around 2pm if anyone wants to come up and join the fun. Nothing fancy just a fun carve and a night dive with the pumpkins illuminated.

I was already told that I really should use a SS double-ender for the roasters (which are supposedly too small, but worked). I'm going to be in the neck of netmage's new woods in a couple weeks. Perhaps I can get a certificate or something, I'm pretty sure that I had a verbal "provisional pass" on the toasting side of the SIR team.

Anyone still planning on Gilboa Oct 8 or 9th?

I decided to bail on the weekend since it didn't seem like too many people were going.
