I've striped down an old Tekna and want to build a scooter. Are there any general plans for a tube scooter. I've search the web I've found none. Has anyone documented a build on a website? I guess I could go by dimensions from Gavin or Xscooter site. I think the hardest part will be getting it to trim correctly. Or had everyone been doing this by trial and error?

Thanks

Somewhere there is a thread of someone doing just what you are doing. It could well be on The Deco Stop.

I have pondered this very idea myself. My challenges would be mechanical in nature. The electrical, from battery selection to the motor shaft is like "falling off a log" for me. If you want advice, I have plenty.

The first is: pick the battery. If it has to fit in a specific space, as it seems yours does, this is even more critical.

Yell if you want more.

This might be just what you're looking for - it's a kit to turn the twirly bits of your Tekna/Mako into a deep, long endurance scooter.

Mike's Kit thread at TDS

You'll need to register at The Deco Stop to view the thread, if you aren't already a member, but hey, it's free (and is occasionally entertaining!)

It's been three years since Mike posted the kit, but I'm sure he still has the tapes for his Haas.

All the best, James
