I totally agree with Matt...not that that surprizes me. Look at the Aqualung Mikron. It has a small first and second stage and comes standard with Miflex hoses. It is however a diaphram stage and is a very tried and tested design. The second stage comes in pink too :)

my wife likes the mares proton she dive with the mr42 first stage the proton line is very small.

good answers so far.

if it is small you want i do know the mares ones can be small. not sure of the name but i think it is the micron. could be wrong.

if this is still not they way you would like it to be, try a miflex hose, and a 90degree adaptor to rpute the hose under your arm. maybe this will take some of the pull and weight you fell away and make it more comfortable

as for the smaller diaphram will make it harder to breath, i would have to disagree. if you can support this please show me where you got the info from.

Atomic Aquatics regulators (pick whichever model your budget can support). Titanium/plastic second stage for lightweight. Slap in an aftermarket SeaCure custom fit mouthpiece. Enjoy diving.

i guess i will take your word for it, but it just might be one reg. IMO you think they would of did some reasearch into this before they built them. i would love to see the cracking effort results for a couple of these regs.

i personaly know da aquamaster. not that we have talkked about design issues at the quarry, i will ask him about it next time i see him

Smaller diaphragms tend to breath harder if they share the same other internal parts with larger diaphragm regulators, but with proper design (optimized lever ratio), unless you go to extremes, there is not much difference.

I would suggest the Aqualung Mikron as have several others. It is sure a tiny little thing.

However, it is also worth considering the hose that might tend to pull the regulator to your right. You can put a swivel at the mouthpiece and eliminate some of the effect. You can also use a Miflex hose (with or without the swivel) to get a little more flexibility. I do note, however, that the manufacturers are catching on. The Delta 4 (Oceanic) hose is quite flexible right from the factory and the Delta 4 comes with a swivel (in one variant).

But, since mouthpieces tend to be interchangeable, there is a limit to how small they can get. At the reg end of the mouthpiece, they are all the same size. There may be an exception here and there.

I was also going to suggest changing to the Miflex hose, which will reduce the pull of the second stage and make any reg more comfortable.

the Mares regs come with the superflex(there brand myflex) they are very nice. the mr42 first stage is very small and the proton metal she dive is also compact making a great travel reg aswell
