I'm looking for info on snorkeling Pigeon Key.
Their website says Snorkeling, but a friend of mine was there a few years ago and said the water flowing around the key was EXTREMELY fast/Strong. Has anyone Snorkeled there? Which side of the key would be best and how far out?

Also I'm looking for a suggestion for a Kayak rental for a total Noob near Islamorada. Never been in a Kayak and have a balance problem in a canoe. I Assume a Kayak would be easier? I would prefer a short rental that would be near some mangroves for something to look at vs a long paddle to nowhere. I was thinking Robbies, but was looking for some input.

THANKS!

OK looks like nobody knows anything about pigeon key, but how about kayak rentals.. Does Robbies? are there mangroves there? or how about up through Key Largo? I just want to get out on the water and be able to look down for some Fish life or other interesting things.
