I am writing a book on shore diving in New England based on the shore dives I have actually done 300+ (It will cover about 25 sites with refence to sites I have not dove). I may update the book as I dive new sites. Ive spent lots of time doing the graphics and the sites will be portrayed using Autocad-Adobe Indesign bathymetry instead of a picture of the site.

My question is what would be an ideal picture for the cover.

Im considering using my avatar and taking off the Sherwood logo (blue squigglies) as it reflects our club dives at the Beavertail Lighthouse (one dive every month of the year) a few years back.

What would other people suggest as a cover. I guess I can use any photograph taken and may consider a select shot of a shoeline. But maybe something more fun and animated may be instore.

Just thought I'de get some thoughts.

A picture taken of the shore while floating on the surface (after swimming out) with Divers getting into the water. Make sure to get a good dive flag in the picture as well.

Second that.....choose a picturesque or easily recognized landmark type of shore dive, say one with a lighthouse in the background (nothing says New England like lighthouses ;-) ...or lobsters...)

How 'bout a picture of a lobster IN a lighthouse?
;)

Im starting to like these ideas. Looks like a special trip in in order or some photoshoping.

Thanks and will decide in March sometime.

I was also thinking of a happy group of divers surfacing in front of a lighthouse waving their lobster catch....:D

Seriously, scubasaurus, good luck with the book, and certainly let us all know when it's out.

Oh most certainly will. Ide like to get the Beavertail LH on the cover but its dive entries are down the cliffs so its hard to get the divers and the lighthouse together. Thinking if I made a trip to the Nubble lighthouse.........

Ok this is it. I need a high resolution one of these with divers entering the small inlet. Its Beavertail Lighthouse parking lot #2,
In jamestown, RI.
