Hey guys,
I just wanted some advice on the Visayas...
According to my map Puerto Galera is not there.
I'm sure you can give me some recommendation about Bohol/Cebu that doesn't concern prostitution and terrorists.

pitri:
ok, now that we agreed on Visayas I need some recommendations on where to dive and where to stay.
We are not looking for something fancy, maybe a bungalo on the beach.
In general, I don't know how are things going over there (going from one place to another, one Island to another). I would be happy to hear some comments.

OK, since I'm partly guilty for taking this thread off on the prostitution/ terrorist tangent...:( lemme try put this back on track...

First, transportation wise, you'll need to transfer from Manila to Cebu (mactan) by plane.

Malapascua - 3-4hr drive and private boat from Cebu City or Airport.

Bohol - There are fast ferries from Cebu
here's a website with general info on Bohol

Dumaguete - can arrange private resort boat or public ferry... One of the PG resorts, Altantis, also has a shop/ hotel in Dumaguete...

You understand that the PPD always accomodate people that ask questions here, regardless if it was the 100th time the same question had been ask (alright, I don't think you were exactly the 100th person asking the same broad/general question but there are a lot! :)). But regardless, so sorry for hijacking your thread.

A forum search would have helped you out to narrow your choices in places to stay. Click advanced search and type in "Bohol", "Cebu" as titles only. During this search you would have found many places to dive in Cebu, so you could then type in "Malapascua", "Mactan", "Dumaguete"....etc...etc...

Well, being the nice person I am, I will help you with your search:

My goodness! So many threads to choose from! So many people already answered! If you don't find your answers in one of these many threads (on things concerning weather, places to stay, tips, dive sites, where to eat, dive ops...), please don't hesitate to ask (again. :)).

And in case you're wondering how PG stacks up:
