Last weekend I met a lawyer/diver in Anilao who related to me how he'd take a day trip to Puerto from Batangas pier & manage 2 boat dives at 850 pesos each. He'd get back by mid afternoon. Unfortunately, I forgot to get more details. Would anyone know how I can get to Sabang from Batangas & recommend the closest dive shop where I can get this kind of prices?

Never heard of anyone there who was that cheap. If you find out please share with the rest of us :D

i think that's possible if you organize your own trip and if there are enough divers on the boat to share the cost.

850... that's $17, $18... a 10% discount from the usual $20...

he probably went with a pinoy-run shop or that shop beside action who i heard gives good rates to local divers

2 dives doable if you don't take your sweet time suiting up...

regular bat pier ferry arrives about 830, in the water by 900, out by 1000, in the water again by 1100, out by 1200... lunch, pack up, on the return ferry by 3pm (i think the last ferry out of sabang)

it's tight but if you're after a quicky in PG it's doable

that's right jag. seariders charges around 900 or lower for diving in PG. i thought prandy was referring to daytrip to PG from anilao. my mistake.

Scuba1.net used to do that from Anilao, I think it was P3000 all in, but I'm sure the rates have gone up in the last 4 years.

You can see if they still do it.

Is that $20 per/dive? So for example if you do 3 dives a day would that be $60? And would that include gears, tank, weight, BC. Reason I ask is we will be going sometimes to PG for day only trips, (wife lives in Mabini). In anialo you pay each piece; DM, banca, gear, but can split cost of DM and banca depending on the number of people. when I dive alone in anialo during the week days it is quite expensive almost $80 for a 2 tank dive, but with 3 or more I have dove for about $18. Is Asia divers a good place to use?

Unlikely it would include gear too at that price

My experience in PG is that boat, tanks, weights, and guide are included. It's a set price no matter how many are on the boat. There may be individual dive shops that are doing something similar to Anilao, but I'm not familiar with those. I have heard of some places in the Philippines that have two prices... one for local divers and one for everyone else.

In answer to your question on Asia Divers. I dived with them 2 years ago on my first trip to PG and they were excellent. Although they are not "budget" :D .... they do have an excellent reputation as one of the best operations in PG. Here's a link for them: The Best Scuba Diving Philippines Resort Holidays In Puerto Galera Asia Divers El Galleon Dive Resort Hotels PADI Courses PADI Instructor

Not sure of the current exchange rate... When I was there a couple of weeks ago, it was around 47 pesos to the dollars. That would make it around $21 dollars per dive. Why not stay a couple of nights though and do more dives? Then you could get a real feel for the diving in PG and you could also check out the Point Bar... best view in PG at night
