If someone wants to give me a BP/W I'll evaluate it and tell you if I want to stick with it or not.
You can buy mine if you want...PM me with your offer of what % of what I paid you're willing to buy it for, and other details.
I've not "gone back" to a Jacket yet, but I do plan on doing so...just need to warm up the wife to the expense (...and find a buyer
My rec diving is mostly travel-based, which means that I want to minimize the weight of my travel gear (so a weighted BP is out), and the tank is going to typically be a single AL80.
Between the positive buoyancy of that AL80 tank at the end of a dive and the negative buoyancy of my UW camera system (Nikonos, held in front of me), the two conspire with the wing design to provide a nasty "face down" torque. No amount of adjustment with weights and/or tank height/placement has resulted in what I consider an equal-to-my-old-jacket's "upright on surface" orientation/performance.
The implication is that for dives that may result in longer surface floats, IMO, the Wing's "face down" problem is less acceptable than a Jacket's "squeeze" problem...my choice is the lesser of two evils.
If I were to drop the UW camera and switch to twin LP steels, I might like what I have...but if I drop the camera, I'm not going to be interested in going diving, and the greater weight of twins represents a risk of a repeat back injury that I need to try to avoid. So while a wing may be optimal for others, its not going to be for me, either today or the future.
