I received a Pelican Nemo 2410 for Christmas and took it to Little Cayman in February 2011. The light flooded bad at about 90 feet. The inside was fried with battery acid all over.

I called Pelican at 1-800-473-5422 and selected Option 5 for warranty service. They answered the phone very quick and I described the problem. They issued me an RMA number and I mailed the dive light back with a check for $4.82 for shipping of a new light to me. So at this point I'm about $15.00 into getting a new $50.00 light. (They are on sale right now on their web site. I wonder why?)

It took about 3 weeks and 2 phone calls, but they shipped me a new light.

Here's the kicker!! The lady originally told me that there was a design problem with the Nemo and the factory had erroneously installed RED switches instead of BLACK switches. The black switches are the only ones rated to 500' depth. Guess what they sent me. A new light with a RED switch.

I called them when I got the new light and they assured me the RED switch is rated for 500' depth.
:bs:

So I will test their light in May in Roatan. If it floods again I will be requesting a new one, but this time the shipping is on Pelican!!

Has anyone else heard of a similar situation? I am just curious.

my expereince was a little different. i bought the 2410 online at ebay and shipped here to PH. (since local distribtor was no help)based on the data in pelican catalog it was rated 500ft. of course it failed on 1st dive. numerous emails back and forth to seller pointed finger to pelican . at least 20 email to pelican went unanswered. calling the 800 number was a waste of time.

After sending emails to every address @pelican I could find in internet. they finally replied. The answer was that supposedly there had been a mistake in the printing of their catalog, flyers and their website and that in fact the 2410 was NOT intended for scuba diving.

the only rated scuba light is the NEMO series. In fairness to Pelican, once the finally replied to emails they did in fact send to me a replacment NEMO 2410 LED w red switch which as of now is working fine. although as you said it cost me about USD30 to send them the flooded 2410
