I have not heard of Urocare, and the odor of the vinegar and alcohol mixture I use doesn't bother me, but this statement in the Urocare info you linked to is interesting: "the use of vinegar, . . . only hardens, distorts and damages rubber, latex and plastic parts." Does the common vinegar and alcohol solution really damage my p-valve?

What do you use for a disinfectant?
I'll have to check when I get home tonight. I put it in a small squeeze bottle, squirt it down the hose, then rinse it out with a garden hose. It takes a minute for suds to stop coming out of the drain.

I flush with water and finish with a shot of mouthwash. Comes out minty fresh.

Vinegar will affect the latex/silicone/ whatever. I suggest you rinse it with fresh water after the vinegar/alcohol mix.

I just flushed with ear beer (vinegar and rubbing alcohol) and let it drain, no water rinse, for years without issue. The past 3 years I just pour some Steramine through and dont rinse it out...

vinegar is also acidic, same as urine. if it can survive urine, it will survive vinegar. steramine tablets...

Just an FYI vinegar is significantly more acidic than urine (pH ~2 vs pH ~6). Probably doesn't matter though it's a tube you are peeing through. Your urine is sterile (or should be). Rinse the tube out however you want. Whichever method anyone uses will be unlikely to significantly shorten the life of the tube and you just want to rinse left over urine out.
