I just don't want to believe this.. The world has lost one of the biggest pioneers of our sport. Wes, you have been an inspiration to me for as long as I've been in this sport.... Cave Country will never be the same without you. RIP Wes!

Actually a advertisement for Shackleton's expedition to Antarctica: "Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in event of success". Pretty much reflects my real life...

A true ambassador and explorer. 1 in a million....

I am deeply saddened by Wes's passing. While I hung up my cave gear for good ten years ago, Wes was truly an inspiration for dive exploration, dive training, and environmental protection. I am the diver I am today in part because of his writngs, photos, and teachings. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Wes and Godspeed.
