Mike, don't try that batangas coffee. It's evil stuff. Brought back some of it my first trip back and now my dad's hooked on it. He gets p***ed if we don't bring any back. Last trip back we brought a whole suitcase full. Don't try it man .

no, let's change that . . how does one get chosen as a commissioner ( in the philippines )

As a commissioner...By presidential appointment (as to "the how" please refer to my earlier posts in this thread :-D) then confirmation by commission on appointments. as Asec you are chosen by the cabinet secretary of that particular department but presidential appointment can speed things up for you.

as a career official the highest office you could hold is director or something like that...
