I realized late that you can also print out your tables, whatever with your inkjet, then take that and your "rite in the rain" or other brand paper to the copy shop, and simply copy (laser) to the waterproof paper. (I bought rite in the rain paper and have a laser printer/copier)

A roll of white 2" vinyl tape + a black medium point Sharpie marker = cheap custom tables in about 2 minutes.

The tape applies easily to a wrist slate and/or wet notes pages, and removes easily when you're done with your dive.

Plus, you can bring a roll of tape and a sharpie on the boat with you in case you want/need to modify your plan. Tough to bring a laser printer or run out to a copy shop...

:cool2:

I tend to use the same tables over and over, so I just printed them and laminated 'em at Kinkos for a few bucks. Sized to fit in a wetnotes pocket.

Another thing to look at, is the ZINK waterproof pocket photo printers. (Polaroid, LG make them)
They print from any bluetooth device or usb or sd card. Yes I know they are meant for photos - but its another alternative...

Waterproof, peelable sticky back - and portable.

Rather than spending a load of money on new printers and lamination machines you could just go to a small-run business print service and ask them to photocopy/ laminate it for you. They usually exclusively use laser printers and lamination is a standard service. To my understanding you're probably only doing this for personal or friends so why incur such cost on yourself? $5 or $150?

This is the other thing I do as well, and it's a great low-cost solution. My main run schedule is written up this way, but for bailout/lost gas/etc etc it's a bit much to write on tape!

I have printed tables on regular paper before, and used clear packing tape to seal and hold it to the slate.

I would cut the packing tape beforehand, carefully lay it upside down on a flat surface, cut paper to desired size with enough tape overlapping to create seal and hold it to the slate, put paper on tape so table shows through tape, then attach it to the slate.

It held up for at least two consecutive dives. Print several copies and change out as needed.

I just run two strips of tape on the black "cover page" in my wetnotes and use it like a piece of paper to mark up "oh sh*t" tables.
