Well, have fun on your trip and be safe. Tech classes are pretty demanding but fun. I hope you like it. Maybe we can do the Sean Maru if we hook up at Johans (50m).

Be safe,
R

That should be Sakura Maru at around 54m.
Sien Maru is much shallower at around 25m.

But the real question is why PADI tec rec program. I am not so sure you would learn enough to dive a group a tech diver. Again, it is just my speculation based on an observation on a PADI tec class.

Only carrying one card is a pretty slim benefit IMO... and if you're diving with a PADI shop, they can look it up

Anyway, think we've flogged this to death yet again. But just to wrap it up:

For these people, feel free to Paypal me $50 & send me the completed MSD form; I will send them a nice certificate with their name & a photo of a fish on it via return e-mail, and I will donate $25 to a worthy charity on their behalf!

Yes, flogged to death. BUT. we could continue to hijack the post and compare the PADI MSD to the great NAUI MSD. Now there's a new subject.....

"It's the instructor, not the agency"

My DSAT Tec instructor was as thorough and rigorous as any GUE instructor. At least that's what several GUE instructors seem to think.

So as an alternate way to hijack the thread, why not find a good instructor for two of Peak Performance Buoyancy, Dry Suit or Cavern specialities. These skills are kind of handy in the tech world.

These can be great Padi courses if taught properly. Choose your instructor carefully. My instructors for PPB and Dry Suit were GUE Tech certified which helped. These courses completely changed how I dive and made subsequent tech training a lot easier.

Doing these will make Tech training easier and you will be free to pick any tech instructor / agency without being tied down to Padi Tech for an MSD.

I could say the same about TDI Middle East but I wouldn't base my view on a whole agency due to experiences on one course. I did my Nitrox course through them and was distinctly underwhelmed to say the least. Again, it wasn't the agency, it was the instructor.

Yep and don't forget the F4 :) Whatever the name of the boat (I don't remember) it opens a lot of new places there.

A short feedback about what seems to be the end of the story. I did the TEC40, 45 & 50 in the same time, what they call the TEC DEEP DIVER course. So I'll receive just one card for the 3 courses, and thus I can't apply for the MSD in this case the 3 courses count only for one. Isn't it funny?

About the course, that was a very very nice course. 9 awesome days...
