I recall reading how you set your weight by trying to remain "eye level" with the surface of the water while floating vertically and your BC not inflated. This is also how my instructor told me to set my weight (after he handed me a few weights and set me up perfectly)My LDS did the ol' "10 lbs of your body weight is what you need in lead weight."
I agree thinking there is a lot more PADI can teach, but then how many people would take the class if it went on for months? And what would it cost?
