Let them know before the dive starts and remind them that you should never abandon a buddy in the soup as long as you have gas. Don't be an "SOB", or Same Ocean Buddy: plan to come out together.

Yea but ive had to chase around a lot of these guys on liveaboards to stay in range and ive been abandoned in basically zero viz ...well three foot viz at 60 ft depth before. and that was a couple that were following me. ive found the concept of staying close to be something many choose not to care about. And thats a main reason I have a 19cf pony shipping right now.

FWIW, I've had some awesome "safety stop dives". I've seen a Whale Shark, Swordfish feeding, came nose to nose with a loggerhead, encountered a mola mola, played tag with sea lions and more. It's only boring if you stop looking.

Yes, there are a lot of SOBs out there. If I'm not diving with a friend, I'm usually side mounting on a Liveaboard. Very easy to do if they use RIBs.

I'm going to trust the engineers at Suunto on how conservative their PDCs are.

There are so many factors that affect how we ongas/offgas. It's my humble opinion that dehydration, cold and exercise after the fact really affect whether we get bent or not. Ascent rates below and above 20 ft as well as lengths of stay also have a marked effect. However, I doubt that many have been bent due to conservatism or lack thereof.

I have heard that hot showers and of course driving up into elevations can increase risk. I have not heard that say working out at a gym could be hazardous.

thanks Captain Obvious, I was hoping more along the lines of an explanation :troll: :rofl3:
Do a little searching and reading. DAN is a good place to start. "exercise after diving" might be a good Boolean.

Shake a soda can and see what happens. Shaking your body does the same thing.
