212' would put the top of the mast at 42'

not by my calculations. i make it around 80 feet,
give or take a few. maybe we're using different figures?

here's where i get mine (129' is the height of superstructure):

due to the number of threads in various parts of the board on this subject, i pulled
them all together here. sorry for any confusion.

The measurement you have listed above of 129' is the
dimension of the width, not the superstructure height.
so your depth you have listed is incorrect.

so you think the 30 feet is the height of the superstructure? i wonder what the height from the keel to the deck is.... then it'd be as simple as adding 30 feet.

using Rick's figure of 90 feet from keel to deck, then we end up with 120 feet
total, wich puts the top at 90 feet. still a good rec dive.

We fought with Pensacola so hard, and there is a 1000 ft. air craft carrier up next on the defense department's reef donation list.

Let Pensacola have the Oriskany, we do it bigger and better here in Texas.

Does anyone know the name of the 1000' carrier next scheduled to be sunk as an artificial reef? I and hundreds of others here in Texas worked hard to get the Oriskany dropped on our coast. We will have to just drive to P'cola to see her now.
