I’m just wondering why anyone would feel compelled to carry a tourniquet. It’s just going to rot in your dive bag.
First, amateur, no one is compelled to carry a damn thing. Secondly, it’s no more going to rot than is the rest of your gear if you take care of it.

Lastly, as a former combat medic, I can confidently state having it and not needing it beats the **** outta needing it and not having it.

Have fun, amateur. Hope you never need one.

From Google:

"In June 2024, a shark attack victim in Del Mar, San Diego, was saved by quick-thinking swimmers and lifeguards who applied a tourniquet to slow bleeding from his injuries. The victim was being pulled from the water when a lifeguard applied the tourniquet to his arm to control blood loss while an on-scene ER doctor provided further medical advice."

Back to the shipping thing. Part of the problem is we’re spoiled by free/cheap shipping from big places like Amazon, Home Depot, warehouse clubs etc that do their own or can negotiate great rates for themselves. And are very good at the whole logistics thing. I often wonder hiw they can can ship things as cheaply as they do. The little guys can’t compete with that. It does seem like some don’t even try, which is unfortunate.

I also often wonder why any company chooses to standardize on Fedex. Maybe they are getting a slightly better rate? But Fedex just sucks in general.
