I use a 6lb channel weight that has worked great. It lets me keep only 4lbs on the belt which is not bad at all

Thanks everyone for the input on my other post. Now that I've figured out I need to carry an additional 10bs in fresh water, more in salt or with stages, I'm confronted with the question of how/where to carry this weight.

I have a few options so far:

1. sandwich two steel bp's together
2. hard weights on a standard weight belt
3. put boots on the tanks and stick some lead in there
4. weight pockets on my harness

Are there any others? What are the pros/cons?

Frankly, assuming the weight doesn't need to be ditchable, the first option is the best in terms of comfort, convenience, lowest risk of accidental loss. its also the most expensive.

I don't like option 3 or 4. 2 is workable but is a bit cumbersome to don and a bit awkward in general.

What do other folks do? Can I place a bar of lead between my tanks for example?

Thanks

You could use some or all of following
Put some on your harness
Golem Gear, Inc. - Golem Gear Integrated Weight System for Backplate
some on your tanks
Golem Gear, Inc. - Golem Gear Integrated Weight System for Tanks
and some between the tanks in your BP channel
Golem Gear, Inc. - Sausage weight pocket

In combination with SS BP and proper tanks it should give you weight and trim
you need.
