I would just tape it up with some electrical tape and forget about it...As long as you will not use the reg in any place where you might really need it to deliver air.

A low pressure hose failure can cause some serious stress on a diver , especially if it's at the first stage where it can't be seen. if you've ever seen/heard an LP hose go, you know what I'm saying. It's LOUD, and is followed by a massive rush of bubbles, and will drain a tank pretty quick. even if it's just a quick ascent to the surface, this could easily cause serious panic, and it's just as easy for a panicked diver to drown in 20ft of water as 80.
if you are questioning the hose, it means you should probably replace it.
