This is a link to a trailer for the movie Open Water based on a true story about a couple who are left behind by their dive boat.

Does anyone have any idea on when and where this happened?

The Skipper was a guy called Jack Nairn.

The boat was called Aristocrat which visited Opal, Agincourt and the location of the missing divers on that day was St Crispin Reef located 15 n miles off the coast of Port Douglas.

The couple where Ted and wife (Joan I think but cant be absol sure Lonagans ).

Although this tragedy happened before the days of official headcounts, the movie may as well have been made by the same people that made Nemo. ( la la land as far as getting it even close ).

St Crispin Reef sits 1 metre out of the water on high tide at 3.00pm and there was a pontoon about 100 metres long not far away.

Local rumour has it he killed his wife and slipped out of the country.
