Last year Mares published several press announcements on the HUB. The design concept was positioned to compete in the high-end BC market against the likes of the Ranger, Black Diamond and etc but instead sales have dug deep into the BP/W market seriously reducing market share in that segment. Mares is anticipating 2 more models released before Christmas in anticipation of HUB market space competiton from other manufactures.

It's rumored that Halcyon and Dive Rite will release HUB style BCD's and Poseiden is still in the design phase.
