I thought this was a thread about interesting acts of trust? Or is it just a thread to pretend Bonaire is some magical island sprinkled with fairy dust?
The first time I dove with Aldora in Cozumel, they set me up with equipment, my wife and I left the shop with their wet suits and a hand shake, we dove something like 30 dives between the 2 of us and showed up on our last day back at their shop to pay them. No credit card impression ever taken until the last day.
Only on Cozumel.
I'm up to 5, you're falling behind.
One time on Anegada we motored in on our dingy and left it on the beach all day. That night we stumbled back to it about midnight and it was un-touched still on the beach as we left it
with nothing but a line wrapped loosley around a coconut tree to secure it.
Another time we were on Jost Van Dyke hanging on the beach at a local bar-b-que joint enjoying ourselves, we went up to the bar in the shack and I couldn't find the bartender, I waited for a few minutes, after nobody seemed to be showing up young women walked in, went behind the bar, grabbed a round of beers, reached in her pocket, took out some bills, opened the cigar box I now saw sitting on the bar, made her own change and put the cost of the beers in the cigar box. Self-serve bar. She smiled and left and I followed her example.
Only on Jost Van Dyke.
I think I'm up to 7.
Another time in band camp....
