Now with Grand Cayman trashed, we have one less place to travel to. In the Carribean, this leaves Coz and Bonaire as a major dive hub. I can't imagine the way the hurricane trashed GCM that it'll be up and running any time soon...maybe 6 months.

Any word on damage to the reefs and where? I don't really mind a rough looking topside as long as the reefs are in good shape. I feel your pain though. It seems every time I watch the weather this month another dive trip idea gets blown away... I guess we should be thankful we are worried about such luxuries, eh?

I'll bet one month. Ambergris Caye was back on it's feet in that amount of time after Keith and I've seen multiple typhoons hit Boracay in the Philippines. They clean up and get back to business. But the shallow reefs may have taken a beating.

Tourists dollars will help the Grand Cayman island get back up and running even quicker.

It's going to be interesting to see how long a wealthy island like GC takes to clean up and get back to business. My heart sure goes out to the people and businesses that were affected.
